About L.L. Consulting

Founded in 2000, L.L. Consulting is committed to assisting communities with the revitalization and development of their historic downtown cores, traditional commercial districts, urban commercial corridors, and business improvement areas. L.L. Consulting has worked with local governments, Main Street programs, redevelopment agencies, business associations, chambers of commerce, business improvement districts, community development corporations, downtown organizations and other non-profits throughout the Southwest.  

Consulting services and technical assistance include organizational formation and training, Main Street Program development and management, business development strategies and programs, strategic planning and visioning, marketing, promotional and branding strategies and plans, business improvement district formation and management and small business consulting and coaching. 

L.L. Consulting provides basic training for those communities who are just starting a revitalization program to advanced consulting services to help existing organizations and agencies sustain and expand their central business district and urban center efforts.  All services are customized to the community or organization’s needs and resources and the team at L.L. Consulting pride themselves on providing hands-on assistance throughout the process guaranteeing success for all parties involved.

 

President

Lani Lott

Ms. Lani Lott, President of L. L. Consulting has over 28 years of working in the field of downtown development and economic revitalization. Since 2001, Ms. Lott has been providing technical assistance services, ranging from board training, strategic planning, fundraising strategies, tourism, branding and market plans, volunteer management, Main Street formation and development, economic development strategies and business improvement district formation and management across the Southwest.

Prior to establishing L.L. Consulting in October of 2000, Ms. Lani Lott was Senior Consultant for Burnes Consulting, a nationally recognized consulting firm located in California.  During her tenure at Burnes Consulting, she acted as the lead project manager on numerous downtown development and revitalization projects throughout the country, conducted strategic planning and helped communities with developing plans for long term sustainability both organizationally as well as programmatically. 

From 1990-1996, Ms. Lott served as Executive Director for the Grass Valley Downtown Association, a California Main Street community since 1986 where she gained “in the trenches” experience in downtown redevelopment, the Main Street Four Point Approach and non-profit management.   On Lani’s watch, the downtown recruited 25 new businesses, assisted in the creation of 75 new jobs and oversaw over $2.5 million of new construction and reinvestment in the downtown area.

Ms. Lott balances her consulting practice with as a part time business advisor for several Small Business Development Centers in California, acting as the Executive Director for the Arizona Heritage Alliance and the current coordinator of the Arizona Downtown Alliance, a program of the Arizona Preservation Foundation.

Due to her years of experience and expertise with an array of topics, Ms. Lott is regularly asked to present as a speaker or trainer.  The National Main Street Center has recruited her as a faculty member at their national town meetings in Indiana, San Diego, Oregon, Arkansas and Tennessee.  In addition, Ms. Lott has serves as conference speaker for the California Downtown Association, the Governor’s Arizona Rural Development Conference, the Arizona Historic Preservation Conference, Arizona Rural Development Forum,and California Association of Economic Development Professionals and is frequently asked to present at local Main Street programs, community forums, city councils and government agencies.
